NEW SINGLE THE SUN IN FÁTIMA OUT MAY 28TH
Planefield is the brainchild of individuals with a clear vision to create something new and unique. The band transcend musical boundaries and conceptions and clearly aims for another world. With thought-provoking lyrics and powerful songs, Planefield is on a mission to reinvigorate music. Born in the late 2000s, the band was instantly diving into the indie pool and what followed was some local success, largely thanks to strong original songs, but recently the music has left that environment and is now clearly heading in a different direction. With the addition of synthesizers, a tighter production, even better songwriting and a more sublime overall feel, Planefield has finally set it sights for the stars.
The Sun In Fátima is essentially a story about a sun miracle that occurred in the Portuguese city of Fátima on 13 October 1917. Three shepherd girls had had a vision that the virgin Mary would appear and perform a miracle on that date. Soon the word had spread of the prophecy and a large crowd of believers was gathered to witness the sun “dancing” in the sky on that day. Planefield read about it, was intrigued, and soon had an epiphany of writing a song, not only about the event, but in a wider sense about man´s journey from feelings of despair to feelings of hope and perhaps a truer understanding of life itself. The song was recorded in the band´s studio on different occasions during the summer and fall of 2020. The goal was to create a powerful song that hopefully will leave a profound impression on the listeners, whether they are believers or not.
